Streetphotography in Paris 2025

I’ve recently visited Paris for the first time. I made a last-minute decision to book the trip as I desperately needed a break from a busy life to clear my head.

Never having been in Paris, I didn’t have a clue where to stay or where to go, but my main plan was to take my camera and get lost in the busy city, photographing. I booked a cheap hotel around Montmartre. It’s very touristy around there, and I didn’t spend much time, but it was great to see the view of the city.

I’ve only spent 3 days in Paris, so I’ve tried to cover as much as I can, mainly walking the city. Yes, Paris is huge; I think it’s even larger than London, where I lived for about 10 years.

So, walking wasn’t the best choice to get to places, but at least I tested my fitness (failed). I would recommend the Metro or bus, as it looks like the Eiffel Tower is close, but it’s actually an hour’s walk from the Louvre. For me, Paris was too big and too busy. I had a good time visiting, and I would definitely recommend seeing it for yourself at least once in a lifetime, but prepare yourself for a very chaotic, full-on experience with more people around you than you might wish. I guess having local recommendations would help massively when navigating the city.

If you can, get recommendations.

I feel visiting a new city for the first time has its challenges when it comes to photography, as we don’t know the best places or the best times when the light is optimal.

Also, having limited time doesn’t allow us to stay in one place for too long, waiting for the best shot or revisiting a location. So, I don’t think I made my best work there, but I’ve got a few shots I’m fairly happy with, and I would like to share them here.

(I would recommend viewing the photographs on a monitor rather than your phone for a better experience.)

Enjoy, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or feedback. Prints are available on request.
Thanks,
Tibor

Here is a bonus for everyone who loves photography!

I had the chance to visit Robert Doisneau’s exhibition at the Maillol Museum, which is on until 12 October 2025, featuring 350 absolutely stunning photographs.

Not to be missed if you are around!

And here are a couple of shots of his Leica M3 :)
